Canterbury has a tradition of visitor welcome that
reaches back to the days of medieval pilgrimages.
Founded
in 597AD, Mother Church of the Anglican Communion, it houses a Romanesque
crypt, 12th century quire and some of the oldest and most beautiful stained
glass windows in the country. In 1170 Thomas Becket was murdered in the
Cathedral and ever since, the Cathedral has attracted thousands of
visitors. |

OPENING TIMES & ADMISSION |
Open Monday to Saturday 9.00am - 5.00pm, Sundays 12.30pm - 2.00pm
& 4.30pm - 5.30pm. Liable to closure or restrictions for services or
special events. Admission is charged to
the Cathedral and its Precincts. Please check the Visitor Facilities
