Although a house has occupied the site since the 12th Century, the present Cobham Hall owes its architectural features to Inigo Jones and James Wyatt. The magnificent Gilt Hall and the fine parkland are attractions in their own right.

The home of the Darnley family until 1957 the Hall has played host to Queen Elizabeth 1st, King Charles 1st and Charles Dickens to name but a few. The Hall is now one of Britains leading girls' schools.
