The Pine Garden lies in a hollow behind the
towering 200ft white cliffs of Dover. This relatively young garden has six
acres of open undulating lawns, mature trees and flowering shrubs giving it the
peacefulness of a great park.
There are also enclosed more
intimate areas to be discovered in the beautiful rock garden above and beside
the lake. A cascade of waterfalls and pools add charm and serenity to this
garden which the visitor must take time to explore. There are some
exceptionally fine herbaceous plants in the mixed borders and close to the
courtyard entrance. Extensive paths for buggy and wheelchair access. Full
disabled facilities. Ample seating. Picnics. Dogs on leads.
Adjacent to the
gardens and open during the summer from May until September is the St.
Margaret's Museum (entrance £1.00), Tea Room and Gift Shop
