Front of House The Rogers came to Riverhill in 1840 but were already an established family going back to the martyrdom of the Protestant John Rogers in 1555. The house has panelling, portraits and miniatures spanning 400 years, and memorabilia of a very personal nature. It is modest and unpretentious with a strong atmosphere of 'home'. "Well loved and well lived in" is what Mrs Rogers tells people when she guides them round.
The house is normally open for pre-booked groups of 20+ adults between Easter - 22nd June. The tour takes about 45 minutes and the cost (including tour of house and access to gardens) is £4.50 per person. If a guided tour of the garden is required then we can provide a horticulturalist at a one-off extra cost of £25.
Riverhill House Gardens can also provide an ideal location for small conferences or up-market entertaining (not weddings), and the house can provide an impressive backdrop for elite motor rallies.
