Willesborough Windmill, built in 1869, Grade II*
Listed, one of the largest smock mills in the South of England, now fully
restored, with new sweeps built by Vincent Pargeter put in place April 2007.
Our stone ground strong bread flour is now made using wind power.
Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the Mill, Victorian Cottage and engine room
(Hornsby 14hp gas-oil engine), visit the Barn for tea and homemade cake, with
displays of Norman cycles, photography and many working model mills. Children
are welcome and can make their own flour on quern stones.
Special Events
include Victorian Weekend, Abseiling Teddy Bears, Shire Horses, Opera Evenings.
The Mill is licensed for weddings and the Barn can be hired for seminars,
meetings etc. School/group visits during the week by arrangement. Wheelchair
visitors have access to the ground floor where there are old photos, a scale
model of the mill, and a large model of Winchelsea post mill.
