Described by the Daily Telegraph as 'among the
most inspirational garden acres anywhere, for everyone', the gardens are
rapidly gaining a reputation for being amongst the very best in the South
East. Nestling against a traditional
backdrop of hop gardens and oast houses, the gardens trace garden history
through sixteen landscaped displays, including a 13th century apothecary's
garden, a Tudor Knott, a cottagers garden in the early 19th century and a
stunning herbacious border inspired by Gertrude Jekyll.Yalding is run by HDRA, Britains leading organic
gardening organisation, so naturally the gardens also demonstrate the best ways
of making compost and how to control pests and diseases without using
pesticides. Kids will love the children's garden. Home cooking a speciality using
vegetables and salads fresh from the garden whenever possible - delicious!.
The Gardens regularly appear on TV, most
recently in Grassroots and The Flying Gardener. Group discounts apply to groups
of 14 adults or more booked at least two weeks in advance. Catering for groups
can be booked in advance by calling Tania Neumann on 01622 814650.
