The garden lies off the busy A252, high up on the North Downs. It has been described as an oasis of beauty and tranquility. The 10 acre grounds were planted in the 50s with many interesting and rare trees including the tallest eucryphia in Kent, a kalopanax and many acers and fine firs. Viburnums, rhododendrons and azaleas grow in abundance along with many varities of climbing roses and hydrangeas. The finale is in the Autumn with the reds, yellows & purples of the acid loving plants. The spacious lawns with islands beds and surprising vistas make for pleasant and easy walking. Birdsong is in abundance and firecrests along with many interesting species nest among the trees and shrubs.

The old oast house is now used as a tea room serving refreshments and home cooking all day. In fine weather customers may sit outside and enjoy the fine view over the pond and gardens. The tea rooms will seat 50 people. Pet animals and a childrens trail make this a garden to be enjoyed by all ages.
