| Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway returns two 'new' locomotives to service |
|
Attention narrow gauge fans! Following a long restoration and re-gauging ex- Sena Sugar Estates locomotive, now named ' Zambezi', built by Fowler in 1912 ( Works No. 13573) will return to service at the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway in Kent at its June 5th open day. Also returning to service on this day will be BWLR No.8 'Helga' an 0-4-0 well tank built by Orenstein & Koppell A.G., Berlin, Germany in 1936 (works no. 12722). This locomotive saw service at Bressingham before transferring to the Brecon Mountain Railway. In 1999 the machine was purchased by the BWLR. The engine is now fully restored and ready for service. The usual caveat of 'subject to availability' applies. |
