I Love Vintage Fair The Powell-Cotton Museum, 6 April 2012, 10am - 5pm Inside the Museum, stallholders will be selling vintage clothes, kitchen and household items, toys, retro goods and vintage style crafts from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. A’ Beauty Parlour’ will be on hand offering you the opportunity to have mini-makeover or maybe experiment with a retro hairstyle*. For Children (and parents) take a ride on the miniature railway through the beautiful museum gardens*. Afterwards try your luck on the Easter Trail remembering to collect your prize at the end. A Vintage style tea room will provide you with delicious refreshments* and there will be musical entertainment from ‘The Riverside Swing Band’. Why not come along dressed ‘vintage style’ to join in the fun? Admission: Adults £2.00, Children under 16 FREE
The all new Country Craft and Food Fair The Hop Farm, 28 - 29 April 2012 The Hop Farm have released details of their exciting plans for the all new Country Craft and Food Fair, which will be held within their 400 acre site on the 28th and 29th April 2012. For 2012, the two day Fair will feature craft stalls and craft makers, food halls and shopping malls, an exciting arena timetable, top class entertainment and interactive displays. The craft element of the show has been developed for this year to include pottery for adults and children, patchwork quilting, card making and children’s jewellery that can be created at the show to take home, among other Kentish crafts on display. In support of preserving the beautiful Kent countryside the Fair will also feature displays from the Wildlife Trust, West Kent Badgers and the RSPB. Live music performances will create a buzzing atmosphere throughout the day, when visitors can also enjoy Morris dancing and other acts. Along with the new activities, traditional elements will feature strongly at the Fair, from vintage tractors, 4 x 4 landrovers and ferret racing, to produce, poultry and country living stalls. The main arena will also play host to some of Britain’s Strongest Men as they pull tractors, and drays with audience participation; a thrilling crowd demonstration. At various times throughout the day The Hop Farm’s very own shire horses will star in arena demonstrations, providing a unique opportunity to see these beautiful horses in action. In the Shopping and Food Mall an array of stalls will be offering a delicious range of mouth-watering treats. On Sunday 29th April there will also be the chance for visitors to watch their favourite mascots take part in a charity mascot race. Hall Place and Gardens, first Sunday in every month from 6 May, 10am – 2pm On the first Sunday in every month, you can pop down to Hall Place to pick up the best local produce. Meet the farmers and producers, try food samples and buy everything from home-grown fruit and vegetables, through to delicious cakes, bread, cheese and chutneys. Simply scrumptious.
Farmer’s Market Doddington Place, First Sunday of the month from May through to September, 11am - 2pm. Visitors can enjoy delicious treats from a wide range of local Kentish producers, as well as the gardens and events taking place on the day.
Home and Garden Weekend Leeds Castle, 19 - 20 May 2012, 10am - 6pm Leeds Castle’s popular lifestyle fair offers a wide range of home furnishings, kitchen and cookery items, fashion, garden equipment, local produce and plants to buy. Meet the Leeds Castle Gardeners and learn how to create the perfect spring hanging baskets. The Daily Mail Garden Roadshow, live entertainment and catering will also be on offer. Electric boat rides will be available for younger visitors.
Taste the Best of Produced in Kent 2012 Biddenden Vineyards, Sunday 10 June 2012, 11am - 4pm With around 30 producers taking part, there will be food and drink to suit every taste, ranging from jams, chutneys and honeys, to beers, pies and cheese, as well as fish, olives, game, liqueurs and more… Ploughman’s lunches will be available throughout the day, as well as tea, coffee and cold drinks. The vineyard will be open as usual offering tastings of the award winning wines, ciders and juices, and also the chance to take a walk through the vineyards on a choice of routes. Admission is FREE, with donations being taken for the Kent Air Ambulance.
Spring Garden Fair & Music Festival Finchcocks Musical Museum, Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 May 2012, 10.30am - 5pm Stalls in the garden featuring specialist nurseries & plantsmen, pots and planters, gifts, furniture and other stalls on a garden/outdoor theme.
