Fully operational Kentish smock mill built in 1869.  See how flour was made using windpower in Victorian times. Entry to the mill is FREE with a charge being made if a guided tour is required

Our experienced guides will explain how all the cogs and wheels combine to make this method of milling a wonderfully efficient use of windpower.

Children can use the primitive quern stones to make flour, and understand the great innovation that windpower brought to food production.

The guided tour also includes the attached miller’s cottage showing how life was lived when the mill was in daily use.

You are sure of a warm welcome in the Barn Café which provides light refreshments including homemade cakes, and if you would like a small memento of your visit our souvenir shop is there to meet your needs.

The Mill provides a delightful and unique wedding venue and is licensed for Civil Wedding Ceremonies.
